      AFN 165 Billion Tax and Customs Revenue Collected So Far

      Since the beginning of FY 1398, the total tax and customs revenue collected so far has been AFN. 165 Billion and this amount will increase until the end of FY. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has set a target of AFN. 200 Billion for tax and customs revenue in FY 1398.

      October 13, 2019 – Afghanistan Revenue Department/ Ministry of Finance (ARD/MoF) in series of provincial reforms, integration of activities, improving revenue collection and solving the issues of Provincial Revenue Directorates (PRDs= Mastufyats), following other activities of FY 1398, conducted its programs of video conferences.

    Afghanistan Revenue Department has recently set up a system for collecting revenue from public hospitals and delivered it to the Ministry of Public Health; electronic system increase transparency in revenue collection and we have to focus on it.

    The revenue is used to fund public infrastructure, including the construction of roads, schools, and health facilities, and to provide social services, including health and education. In addition, the revenue is used to fund Government functions.

    Notice on 85% Exemption:

    Taxpayers who have not cleared their tax liabilities from FY 1381 till 1396, will be entitled to an exemption of 85% penalties if they pay their taxes until the end of FY 1398.

    Notice on Working Hours of Tax Administrations

    [08:30 am to 04:30 pm]
    In order to provide timely services and avoid tax penalties of taxpayers, MoF/ARD has changed the working hours of all central and provincial tax offices from 08:30 am to 04:30 pm including Thursdays. This schedule will continue till the end of FY 1398.
    You can refer to all tax offices at the above-mentioned time and clear your tax obligations before the end of FY 1398.
