    Message from Director General Revenue

    FY 1399 is named as the year of reform and electronization of revenue collection systems by the ARD. ARD is committed to: providing professional services to taxpayers, creating further facilities, avoiding bureaucracy, accurate and timely collection of revenue, reducing revenue collection costs, transparency and fighting corruption. To achieve the mentioned goals, ARD is undertaking the following actions: • Implementation of e-filing, • Issuance a single voucher by RMIS to taxpayer and government agencies (Non-tax revenue). • Implementation of electronic payment and refrain from payment of cash in banks. We therefore kindly request the private sector, government agencies, mastofiats, banks and ARD staff to cooperate us in achieving the above-mentioned objectives.

    World Bank praises revenue collection management.

    Domestic revenue collection reached a new high of 14.5 percent of GDP in 2019, up from 13.3 percent in 2018. Strong revenue performance reflected both progress in establishing a robust tax system and substantial one-off revenues, including transfers from the Da Afghanistan Bank.

    Tax Awareness Workshop Held for the Representatives of Afghan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries

    In series of tax week celebration and tax awareness workshops, a workshop was launched for the representatives of Afghan Women Chamber of Commerce and industries in the conference hall of the mentioned chamber and was attended by the representatives of different businesses and landlords.

    Tax Week in Bamyan, Takhar and Daikundi Provinces

    With celebration of Tax Week in Badam Bagh, Kabul, the mentioned week was also celebrated with great pomp and show in Bamyan, Takhar and Daikundi provinces. This program was launched in presence of Provincial Governors, Mastofies, directors of the government agencies, taxpayers and other guests.

    The Afghanistan Revenue Department (ARD) is responsible for the administration and collection of tax and non-tax revenue for the Government of Afghanistan.

    Now 1000 will connect you with the Revenue General Directorate and answer all your tax questions and problems.

    FY-1398 Current Revenue Collection Reports

    The revenue is used to fund public infrastructure, including the construction of roads, schools, and health facilities, and to provide social services, including health and education. In addition, the revenue is used to fund Government functions.

    In series of Tax Week programs, today in addition to tax training programs, sports, entertainments and other events are still in place. All Kabul residents are requested to visit this festival and receive printed tax related materials and purchase private sector products at low costs.

    Notice on 85% Exemption:

    Taxpayers who have not cleared their tax liabilities from FY 1381 till 1396, will be entitled to an exemption of 85% penalties if they pay their taxes until the end of FY 1398.

    Notice on Working Hours of Tax Administrations

    [08:30 am to 04:30 pm]
    In order to provide timely services and avoid tax penalties of taxpayers, MoF/ARD has changed the working hours of all central and provincial tax offices from 08:30 am to 04:30 pm including Thursdays. This schedule will continue till the end of FY 1398.
    You can refer to all tax offices at the above-mentioned time and clear your tax obligations before the end of FY 1398.
