Ahmad Shah Zamanzai
Ahmad Shah Zamanzai was born on January 11, 1973 in Kandahar province.
Ahmad Shah Zamanzai received his primary education from Ahmad Shah Baba High School and was graduated from 24th School Moscow in 1991.
Shortly afterwards he was awarded a scholarship to Russia. Using the opportunity, he went to Russia for higher education. He began his higher studies at the University of Economics (Management) and received his Bachelor degree in 1997. He received his PhD in International Economics in 2002 and after obtaining his PhD, he went to India to study English language.
Ahmad Shah Zamanzai can speak Pashto, Dari, Russian and English languages.
After studying in Moscow, Ahmad Shah Zamanzai served as assistant lecturer and returned to the country after that job. In 2004 he was appointed as manager of the Development and Training Center and advisor to the treasury of the MoF. From 2005 until 2008 he served as Deputy Chief of the staff of the MoF.
From 2007 till 2009 he was working as the Deputy of Afghanistan Revenue Department (ARD) and the Director of LTO. Beside these duties, he was also preparing plans and strategy of ARD. He was appointed as the Director General of ARD from 2009 until 2013.
From 2013 – 2016 he served as the Chairman of Board of Directors of Pashtany Bank. His main task was to improve banking programs, administrative affairs and service guidance in the Bank.
Mr. Zamanzai has served as the Finance and Budget Director of the Ministry of Defense from 2016 – 2018 and Secretariat of Independent Election Commission from 2018 till 2019.
