    Ahmad Javed Jalali

    Mr. Ahmad Javed Jalali was Director General for Afghanistan Revenue Department (ARD) in the Ministry of Finance between December 2005 and January 2009. He holds a Master in Business Administration, a diploma in commerce and a diploma in computer science and has taken many professional development courses. Mr. Jalali is a highly motivated individual with considerable experience in public and private sectors specifically in project management, process automation/systems applications, and management, Accounting/Public Finance and Operational Management; a reputable person with the Afghan Government and International Community in Afghanistan, who has worked with The Afghan government, international organizations, NGOs, and International consulting firms, Mr. Jalali is an expert who has been engaged in most of the reform planning and implementation in Treasury, Accounting, Revenue and Budget departments of the Afghanistan Finance Ministry (MOF); recruited through different programs and projects of the World Bank and USAID. An Individual who strived to achieve every success in his job through strong willpower and persistence, in over twenty years of experience he has made every effort to improve the efficiency, effectiveness transparency and accountability of the organization. Mr. Jalali was also a leading member of the team implementing Financial Management System i.e. Donor Assistance Database (DAD), State Budget Planning System (SBPS), Free Balance System (Afghanistan Financial Management Information System) and Standard Integrated Government Tax Administration System (SIGTAS.
    Mr. Jalali was one of the most effective official of Ministry of Finance and has worked in several positions as Director General Budget, Director General Revenue (tax and non-tax revenues), Director General Government and many senior positions in the Treasury Department, his experience also extends to CFO and COO positions with NGOs and private corporations such as KPMG, Bearing Point and Afghan Finance Company. His most recent work was as Senior Policy Advisor to Minster of Finance through Institute for State Effectiveness, a core member of Independent expert group of CBRF project of the World Bank.
