    Director General of Afghanistan Revenue Department Meets the Representatives of Land Transport Sector

    The meeting was held in presence of the DG of Afghanistan Revenue Department (ARD) Miss. Amina Ahmady and representatives of land transport sector to implement Resolution No.9 of High Economic Council (HEC) dated 9/Sunbula/1398 and Resolution No. 11 of the Cabinet dated 28/Jaddi/1398.
    The above-mentioned resolutions contain the following decisions:

    1. The due additional taxes on failure to pay vehicle taxes pertaining to previous years are exempted until FY 1397.
    2. The basic tax from previous year until 1397 is exempted to 50%.
    3. By paying the tax of FY 1398, the payment of arrears from previous year is approved in three installments. The owners of vehicles are obliged to pay (20%) as the initial installment in 1398 and together with the tax of each following year, pay the installment of the arrears of previous years.
    4. To enjoy this exemption, the owners of vehicles are required to extend the validity of their vehicle license (jawaz-e- saer) until 1398.
    5. Owners of vehicles can only enjoy this exemption if they refer to tax administration within 6 months of the approval of this exemption.
    6. In the event of breach by the owners of the vehicles and the non-payment of basic tax or the amount of the installment in the time agreed, the order of paying tax in installment shall be annulled and the offending owners shall pay the whole arears.
    Miss. Ahmady asked all owners of vehicles to use this opportunity and pay arrears of their previous years on due time in accordance with the above decisions.
