    DG of ARD Participated in BRITACOM Conference

    21 April, 2019 – The conference was held in Wuzhen city of the Republic of China from 18 to 20 April 2019. Director General Amina Ahmady represented the Ministry of Finance who signed the membership treaty for Afghanistan.
    Representatives of 89 countries’ tax administrations, 14 international organizations and various independent enterprises’ and corporations’ representatives discussed the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACOM) structure, membership treaty, enforcement of taxation laws, taxpayer services, tax disputes resolution, and capacity building during the conference. The Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism jurisdictions may differ from each other taking into account their economic situation and culture, however all jurisdictions face similar challenges in the aforementioned areas.
    Facilitating services for commerce and investment, promoting economic development in BRI jurisdictions and sustainable development are the long-term Goals of the BRI mechanism. The general aims are to prepare and implement international standards and procedures in the area of taxation and to have an organizational structure that safeguards tax transparency, mutual tax benefit, rule of law and exchange of information, increase taxpayer satisfaction, tax disputes resolution, to provide best services to the taxpayers, and capacity building.
    The next meeting of the conference will be held in Kazakhstan where the BRITACOM will be discussed in details.
