    Opening of E-Filing System for Taxpayers Facilitation

    Ms. Amina Ahmadi, General Director of Afghanistan Revenue Department of Ministry of Finance, with great efforts and in cooperation of The World Bank has inaugurated e-filing or online tax-form submitting system at Intercontinental Hotel.
    At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Amina Ahmadi welcomed the participants and said: “electronic service system is the best way to collect taxes and reduces the relationship between taxpayer and tax officials to prevent corruption.”
    Ms.Ahmadi, expected private sectors representatives especially taxpayers to push Afghanistan to self-sufficiency by paying their taxes.
    She added: “I hope you use of much of this system and work together with the Afghanistan Revenue Department in this regard.”
    In addition, Mr. Ismail Rahimi the deputy minister of Economy appreciated the initiative of the director general of Revenue and efforts, and added: “This system has brought reforms, it improves the situation of the private sector and designed for taxpayers to use the system at any time in anyplace they are convenient with.”
    Afterward, Mr. Khan Jan Alokozay, Director of The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry said in his speech: “tax offices’ servants positively changed their behaviors, have been brought facilities, and we are committed to make successful this process.”
    He added: “The opening of this system will lead us to the transparency and strength of tax system.”
    Mr. Shirbaz Kaminzada Director of The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Mines, Ms. Manizha Wafiq Executive Director of The Afghan Women Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Abdul Qadeer Bahman Chairman of The Afghanistan International Chamber of Commerce, Engineer Jan Mohammad Chairman of the SAWABAQ, Representatives of National Union and a number of taxpayers were participated in this ceremony.
    It is noteworthy that the e-filing system resolution was approved by the cabinet of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on the July 9th 2019 to reduce the process of tax clearance, prevent time wastage, reducing corruption and accurate tax assessments.
