    AFN 165 Billion Tax and Customs Revenue Collected So Far

    Since the beginning of FY 1398, the total tax and customs revenue collected so far has been AFN. 165 Billion and this amount will increase until the end of FY. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has set a target of AFN. 200 Billion for tax and customs revenue in FY 1398.
    Walid Tamim, the Deputy Minister for Customs and Revenue together with Amina Ahmady the Director General (DG) of Afghanistan Revenue Department (ARD) and Mohammad Omer Mohmand the DG of Afghanistan Customs Department (ACD) on Sunday expressed the achievements and programs of the Customs and Revenue Department (CRD) in the current year at Government Media and Information Center. He added: “Total revenue collected so far is showing an increase of AFN. 11 Billion in comparison with the previous year”,
    Miss. Amina Ahmady, the DG of ARD spoke about implementing tax systems in 33 provinces, establishing e-filing services, amendments to tax laws and reduced time for tax clearance of taxpayers. “Previously taxpayers were required to provide 13 supporting documents for tax clearance, now this process has been reduced to 5 supporting documents and 21 days (168 working hours)”, she added.
    She further said: “A plan has been made regarding the companies that have attained business licenses since 1381 and have been inactive. The mentioned plan has been approved by the High Economic Council (HEC) and a list of 50 thousand companies will be shared with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry”.
